Hotel Manager Charged with Assault

HYANNIS – A Hyannis hotel manager is free on bail today after beating a man with an aluminum pole Monday.

According to police, Alan Chang, 30, manager of the America’s Best Value Inn, banged on the inn’s dumpster as a man collected bottles inside the box.

Once the man emerged, Chang hit his calves. The man was not injured and Chang is charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

He is the son of the hotel owner and will be arraigned today.
