HYANNIS – The Hyannis Fire Department celebrated the future at their promotion and recognition ceremony last night.

Chief Harold Brunelle recognized Mark Storie, Tom Kenney and Greg Dardia on their promotions to Captain, and Brian Lawrence, Jeffrey Lamothe, K.C. Pike and Nathan Coughlan on their promotions to Lieutenant.

“It’s just as transition, we’ve got guys that got to a certain age and they had to retire, and they did, and they created some openings,” said Brunelle.

Kyle Jacob, Derek Menangas, Nathan Buckler, Kevin Powers and Wendy DeOliveira were also acknowledged by Brunelle during the ceremony as new hires to the fire department.

Brunelle said he’s happy with his team.

“The young blood comes in and they bring new ideas with them and their energetic and gung-ho,” said Brunelle. “It’s a balance that makes such a great department we have.”
