HYANNIS – The Hyannis HyArts Artist Shanties at Hyannis Harbor/Bismore Park will be open for the 2017 season today at 11 a.m.
The town run program provides affordable rental space for Cape Cod artists and artisans to work and sell at the seaside studios.
The program enables artists to gain exposure, connect with other artists and meet consumers from around the region and world.
The seven artist shanties, where artists will change weekly, will be operating until the season ends on October 9.
Over 95 artists will be participating in the 2017 program, with artwork that includes photography, jewelry, painting, fiber arts, ceramics, mosaics and woodworking.
From June 9-11, one of the shanties will feature the works of over 100 students from Cape Cod Can.
The shanties will be open from 11-8 p.m. Friday-Sunday, from May 5-June 11.
Starting June 12-September 3, they will be open 11-8 p.m. and then from 11-6 p.m., September 4-October 9.
