Keating Calls for Sessions Resignation

William Richard Keating

WASHINGTON – Congressman William Keating has joined the list of democrats who have called for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The Justice Department has confirmed Sessions talked twice with Russia’s ambassador to the United States during the presidential campaign, an apparent contradiction to sworn statements he gave to Congress.

In a statement, Keating said the fact that Sessions did not immediately recuse himself from the investigation into Russia’s attacks on the election underscores why he needs to resign.

Several other democrats have called for his resignation, including Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congressman Joe Kennedy.

Many republicans are calling on Sessions to recuse himself from investigations involving Russia.
