OSTERVILLE – Congressman William Keating spoke to students last week during a visit to Cape Cod Academy.
Keating was invited to speak with 11th graders about current affairs in Washington that impact their lives on Cape Cod.
The students asked questions for about an hour on national and local issues, including minimum wage, college affordability, illegal immigration, climate change and the legislative branch’s ability to investigate the executive branch.
“The students are very aware of the current political climate on the national level, and it was an honor to have our Congressman take time for our students,” said Keith Lewison, Upper School humanities teacher. “They walked away with some insight on how decisions are made at the national level and how someone who represents us here on Cape Cod is doing so back in Washington.”
Cape Cod Academy is a K through 12 independent day school in Osterville.
