Last Whaleship to Visit Provincetown

mystic seaportPROVINCETOWN – America’s last remaining wooden whale ship from America’s once robust whaling fleet will make a stop in Provincetown next month.

The Charles W. Morgan, once one of 2,700 whaling ships in the fleet, will arrive in Provincetown on July 10.

The Morgan is making her 38th voyage, and is sailing for the first time since it was docked in Mystic, Connecticut in 1941.

The vessel will also make stops in historic ports throughout New England, including New Bedford, Newport, Vineyard Haven, and Charlestown.

The Morgan was first launched in New Bedford in 1841.
