Man Arrested in Provincetown after Walking in Store with a Knife

police carPROVINCETOWN – Provincetown police made an arrest Friday afternoon after an employee reported a man walking around Shop Therapy with a knife.

The employee called police around 3 p.m. after she witnessed the man on surveillance cameras walking and crawling on the floor of the Commercial Street store with a knife in his hand.

Police investigated and found a man matching the description walking about a block away on Gosnold Street.

Police say a search of the suspect uncovered three novelty knives valued around $60.

After an investigation it was determined that the knives were allegedly shoplifted from Shop Therapy.

The suspect was arrested for shoplifting and taken to the Provincetown Police Station.

His name is being withheld until he is arraigned tomorrow.
