Man Dead After Gunfight With Darmouth Police

PoliceDARTMOUTH – A man is dead after exchanging fire with police officers in Dartmouth last night. Officers were investigating a report of a domestic disturbance shortly after 11 PM.

Police say while they were trying to arrest the suspect, he opened fire on them.

Officers shot the man, and he was taken to St. Luke’s in New Bedford where he was pronounced dead.

The names of the man or the police officers involved have not been released. The Massachusetts State Police and the Bristol County District Attorney’s office are investigating.
