Man Struck by Vehicle on Scenic Highway in Bourne

ER medical symbolBOURNE – A Bourne teenager was medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston Sunday morning after he was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Scenic Highway in Bourne.

Anthony Sert, 18, remains in critical condition.

Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joe Carrara said Sert was struck in the eastbound lane of the Scenic highway while in the crosswalk near the Eastern Mountain Sports around 9:30 a.m.

A rescue crew in the area was flagged down by witnesses and immediately requested a medflight.

The crews transported the victim to the Bourne State Police Rotary for medflight.

“The injuries were life threatening,” said Carrara.

The passengers of the vehicle involved declined transport to the hospital and were treated at the scene.

Bourne Police said the accident remains under investigation. There is no word yet on whether the driver of the car that struck Sert will be cited.
