BREWSTER – A new two-story, 132-unit senior living and memory care community in Brewster just celebrated a grand opening.
Maplewood at Brewster on 820 Harwich Road gave attendees the chance to scope out the brand new grounds, which feature private, “deluxe studio” and one bedroom apartments for residents requiring assistance for daily living and those with Alzheimer’s disease of all stages.
The facility is LEED certified and provides 24-hour-a-day service from licensed nurses.
“I think you have a reverse-migration,” said Maplewood CEO Greg Smith. “Adult children are bringing back their parents to the Cape, I think it’s a destination where people ultimately want to be here year-round.”
Other amenities include stone fireplaces, libraries, bistro, wellness and aquatic center, spa, salon and outdoor gardens.
Maplewood Brewster Executive Director Peg Holmes said availability is slipping however; they’ve already sold over half the space.
The Connecticut-based organization also recently opened a location in West Yarmouth and operates multiple along the South Shore.
