Margot Carey

Centerville – Margot O’Brien Carey, of Centerville and Sudbury, born September 7th 1938 to Stephen and Margaret O’Brien passed away on May 16th due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. A 1956 graduate of Barnstable High, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Trinity University in Washington D.C. Margot enjoyed a successful career at MIT (Cambridge), Mitre Corp. (Bedford) and MIT Lincoln Laboratory (Lexington) where she was a scientific computer programmer who aided in the analysis of data. In addition to a passion for the Red Sox and Patriots, she was an accomplished bridge player. Margot was pre-deceased by her brothers Jay and Bob and is survived by her husband of 52 years David, brother Steve, sons David and Bob, daughters-in-law Sarah and Lisa, five grandchildren Shannon, Ava, Ryan, Kate and Meegan, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are encouraged to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.

Visiting Hours will be 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA 02632. Burial will be in Mosswood Cemetery.
