Mashpee Dog Park to Open this Spring

dogMASHPEE – Mashpee will be the next town on the Cape to have a dog park.

After receiving a donation of about $200,000 from a Boston Foundation and raising up to $25,000 on their own, the Friends of Mashpee Dog Park are excited to get going.

The group’s vice president, Geoff Spillane said plans are underway.

The park will be located off Route 130 on Ashumet Road as part of the Heritage Park complex.

Mashpee will join other Cape towns with dog parks, Falmouth, Dennis and Provincetown.

The towns of Barnstable and Yarmouth have dog park plans in the works.

As part of its fundraising effort, the Mashpee Dog Park Committee will be at Mashpee Commons on Saturdays and Sundays until Christmas, wrapping gifts for donations to the park.
