Mashpee FD Battles Fire on Falmouth Road

fireMASHPEE – The Mashpee Fire department responded to a fire in a commercial office building this morning at 133 Falmouth Road (Route 28).

Crews responded just after 7 a.m. after the building fire alarm triggered.

Lt. Rick Thayer said crews arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story building.

Fire units from Cotuit and Centerville assisted in battling the blaze and the Massachusetts Military Reservation Fire Department covered the Mashpee station.

Thayer said the fire was contained to the second floor of the building and was extinguished by about 8:30 a.m.

There was smoke and heat damage throughout the second floor and the first floor sustained water damage.

Fire officials were still investigating the cause.

There were no injuries reported.
