MASHPEE – Officers from the Mashpee and Barnstable Police Departments arrested a Mashpee man Tuesday after a month long investigation into heroin trafficking.
During the course of the investigation, Raymond Johnson, 43, was identified as the suspected trafficker.
A Mashpee Officer attempted to pull over the suspect on Cotuit Road while he was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Johnson did not stop his truck until he got close to his Main Street residence and ran from his car.
Mashpee and Barnstable officers assigned to a joint drug task force arrested Johnson after a foot pursuit and struggle.
Police seized two large bags of heroin totaling about 41 grams with an estimated street value of $10,000.
Johnson was charged with heroin trafficking, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license after being deemed a habitual offender, failure to stop for a police officer, resisting arrest and failure to use a directional.
