MassDOT Advises Travelers to Plan Ahead during Holiday Season

trafficBOSTON – MassDOT is advising residents and visitors to travel safely during the upcoming holiday season and use public transportation where possible.

Traffic congestion is anticipated at the I-95 and I-495 Turnpike interchanges along with I-495 and I-93 northbound leading into New Hampshire.

Along with heavy traffic, adverse weather conditions are expected Christmas Eve and Christmas day throughout the northeast.

Free coffee will be served at all MassDOT service plazas between 10 p.m. on Christmas night, Thursday, December 25, until 5 a.m. on Friday, December 26, and between 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, until 5 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2015.
