Mill Hill Residence Previews Model Units Months Before Opening

WEST YARMOUTH – A new assisted living and memory care residence in West Yarmouth is still months from opening, but is allowing the public a sneak peek.

The Mill Hill Residence is the newest addition to the Maplewood at Mayflower Place campus, boasting 75 units equipped to help those who need daily living assistance.

It will also help those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia disorders.

“We’re thrilled, the community’s thrilled, just the neighborhood alone, to see this building progress and to know what it’s for, it’s just awesome,” said Maplewood Regional Sales Director Pam Fletcher.

Until the facility opens its doors at the end of August, staff with Maplewood Senior Living are giving tours of two model apartments that will give people a chance to see how the residents will live.

The new residence will include a lobby, open-kitchen and dining venues, a Bistro, wellness center, spa and salon, libraries and stone fireplaces, along with outdoor gardens and terraces.

“It’s amazing to see how much hard work has gone into this building and to know that’s its purposefully built and it’s going to help people with memory care challenges to be as independent as possible and to live a great life here,” said Maplewood Corporate Director of Memory Care and Programming Gina Saunders.

Maplewood Senior Living is currently accepting reservations for the new site.

Prospective residents will get to choose the location of the apartment, including what views they would like and what kind of apartment they want.

So far, about 25 percent of the units have been filled.
