Money Approved for Tourism Efforts

Bare BeachHYANNIS – The State Legislature has approved seven point five million dollars to be used for increasing tourism in the Commonwealth, tourism is the state’s third largest industry, according to Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Wendy Northcross.

The money is apportioned to the state’s 14 Tourism Districts, Northcross says it’s unclear at this point how much we will see here on Cape.

There is a formula used based on contributions  from room and meals taxes along with the marketing plan for Cape Cod submitted to the State.

The seven point five million is level funded from last year.
