ThinkstockPhotos-89526248CHATHAM – The Monomoy Regional School District has named a new district athletic director.

Brendan Case was previously the athletic director for Saint Bernard School in Montville, Connecticut from 2011 to last December.

Case had oversight over both the high school and middle school during his tenure.

He graduated from Eastern Connecticut State in 2007 with a degree in sports management.

After graduation, Case returned to his hometown to coach basketball and football at Ledyard High School.

The Monomoy school district created a new district Athletic Director position this year to consolidate the middle school and high school athletic director positions into one.

Paul “Spanky” Demanche was the high school AD and he also taught physical education.

Kathy Andews, who is a full-time physical education teacher at the middle school, received a stipend to oversee the middle school athletics.

Case will also be charged with developing strong connections to the youth sports programs in Harwich and Chatham.
