Monomoy Officials React To Chatham Opposition

DunesCHATHAM – Officials with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service heard from residents of Chatham at a meeting this week on the draft management plan for the Monomoy Wildlife Refuge.

The plan has been controversial as it calls for the town to cede control of 717 acres of land to the service.

Libby Herland of the Fish and Wildlife Service said the meeting was cordial and productive.

The public comment period runs until October.
