But beginning next summer, the university will end its financial sponsorship of the theater.
Monomoy Artistic Director Alan Rust said students and staff from Ohio University will still participate in the Chatham theater’s summer season, as do students at Hartford University and other colleges and universities around the country. The change will be only in the area of finances.
Because Ohio University will no longer be the prime financial sponsor of the season, the name of the college will be removed from the sign in front of the theater.
He said the change will not likely be noticed by patrons.
Opening night for the summer season at Mnomoy Theater is Wednesday, June 18 with Cole Porter’s musical “Kiss Me Kate.”
