On April 22, Barnstable Police arrived at the Quarterdeck Lounge in Hyannis at 1:30 a.m. after there were reports of a man found with stab wounds.
Police observed a man suffering from multiple life threatening stab wounds to his back and he was transported to Cape Cod Hospital and nearly died from his injuries.
After police investigated the incident, it was found that the male victim had attempted to intervene in an altercation between a male and female behind the lounge, after the male had assaulted the female.
As the victim came to the aid of the female, police say a group of at least 10 men and women had left the bar, surrounded the victim and attacked him by kicking and stabbing him.
As a result of the investigation, 22-year-old Eric Brando Jr. was identified as one of the attackers.
As Detectives were attempting to serve the search warrant at Brando Jr.’s address on Pepper Lane, Brando Jr. fled the residence on scooter and led police on a chase down Rt. 132.
Police found Brando Jr. hiding in an apartment in the Cape Cross Roads Complex on Rt. 132 and he was arrested and charged with Operating a Moped Without a License, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer and Destruction of Property for damaging a fence while trying to escape.
Brando Jr. was also charged with Assault With Intent to Murder and Assault and Batter Causing Serious Bodily Injury for the April 22 attack.
While police searched Brando Jr.’s residence, his father, Eric Brando Sr. was arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine after 28 grams of cocaine, a digital scale and approximately $2000 in cash was found.
During the search, 31-year-old Raena Ketch and 38-year-old Richard Roser were stopped as they left the residence and were arrested.
Ketch was found to be in possession with a bag of cocaine and was charged with Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Distribute.
Roser was charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act.
After arriving at the residence while police were conducting the search warrant, 36-year-old Matthew Fisher was arrested on outstanding warrants for Operating after Suspension and Threat to Commit a Crime.
