NANTUCKET – A Brockton man will be back in Nantucket District Court today for a dangerousness hearing after he was arrested in Nantucket last Thursday for his sixth operating under the influence offense.
Nantucket Police pulled over a Jeep Wrangler on Fairgrounds Road driven by Charles Passias, 46, after the vehicle was observed speeding and crossing over lane markers.
After a brief investigation, police believed Passias was operating under the influence of alcohol.
The Brockton native was also arrested on charges of operating on a revoked licencse, lane violations and negligent operation.
A records check revealed this was the sixth time Passias was arrested for an OUI offense and that his license status had been revoked for life.
Passias was arraigned Thursday in Nantucket District Court and Judge Thomas Barrett ordered Passias to be held without bail after a show cause hearing.
The district attorney’s office requested the dangerousness hearing.
