National Seashore Invites the Public to Learn About Pollinators

The Cape Cod National Seashore is inviting residents and visitors to the cape to “Bee Dynamic” today.

That’s the theme of the agency’s annual Highlands Fest which this year is focused on understanding pollinators. Inspired by the need to learn more about and to protect the often unpopular pollinator species, the event is free and targeted toward families.

The Seashore hopes that the festivities will be an entertaining and engaging way to teach about the essential role that pollination plays in our environment, particularly here on Cape Cod. Programs are geared toward teaching participants to Bee involved, Bee engaged, and Bee creative.

These events include presentations on butterflies, birds, and of course Bees as well as other insects, all of whom contribute to a healthy and vibrant environment. While there, participants will be treated to refreshments and entertainment and be invited to take home butterfly-friendly seeds to plan in their own gardens.

This year’s Cape Cod National Seashore Highlands Fest will take place between 10 am and 1 pm at The Highlands Center off Route 6 in North Truro.
