National Seashore to Display Works from Irish Artist

COURTESY OF THE CAPE COD NATIONAL SEASHORE

EASTHAM – The Cape Cod National Seashore continues its “Perspectives: Seeing Cape Cod National Seashore Through Art” series next month with an exhibition from an Irish artist.

The Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham will display landscape oil paintings from artist Yvonne King throughout March.

Her exhibit – “Marconi Art Project” – focuses on visually recording the areas used by Guglielmo Marconi in the early 20th century for his wireless transmission sites.

King lives near the Marconi Wireless Site near Clifden in Connemara, where she started her project.

Inspiration for her pieces come from the western part of Ireland, along with locations across the world which have a connection to her home.

Her work can be found in private collections and she has been a solo exhibitor at many different locations throughout the U.S. and Ireland.

King will host a public reception on Saturday, March 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the exhibit room.

The exhibition will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
