Near Drowning Incident at Centerville Home

ER medical symbolCENTERVILLE – A 23 month old girl nearly drowned Saturday at a Centerville home.

Barnstable Police and COMM Fire and Rescue crews responded to a Highland Drive home around 10:40 a.m. after the child’s grandmother discovered the girl in an inflatable pool.

According to Sgt. Mike Riley of the Barnstable PD, the child was conscious and breathing when crews arrived and the dispatcher could hear crying when the incident was reported.

The girl had been removed from the poll before crews arrived.

She was taken to Cape Cod Hospital and according to Cap. Paul Rhude of the COMM Fire Department she was in stable condition when rescue crews left the hospital.
