SANDWICH – A new event is coming to Sandwich to raise funding for arts programs in town.
The inaugural Art & Soul Gala will be held at The Ridge Club in Sandwich Saturday, May 13 from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
Proceeds from the gala will go to the Sandwich Arts Alliance which works to increase the awareness and enjoyment of creative arts for residents and visitors through exhibitions, performances and education.
The event will feature an hour of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, live music from the Mike Persico Band, a buffet dinner, dancing and an auction.
Auction items include 4 tickets to a Red Sox game behind home plate, a six-day stay at Newport Bay Club, a two-night get away to the Inn at Cook Street in Provincetown and original artwork from Alliance members.
The auction will also feature gift cards from area businesses and limousine transportation to Boston or Providence.
The gala will also celebrate the two recipients of the Alliance’s “Artvocate” Award, which recognizes contributions made to support the arts on Cape Cod and the Islands.
The 2017 honorees are Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank & Cape Cod Five Charitable Foundation, and Jim Hurley, the founder and managing director of Cape Cod CAN!
Tickets are $85 and tickets can be purchased at sandwichartsalliance.org.
