New Dennis Housing Development to Serve Those with Autism

AFFORDABLE HOUSINGDENNIS – The town of Dennis is working with an organization called FORWARD that provides for the needs of families who have adult children with autism.

The town is working with the organization on a housing project that would allow the adult children to live on their own as they and their parents age.

Dennis Town Planner Daniel Fortier said with a recent vote of support by Dennis selectmen, the project is in the early stages of getting started.

“They are trying to find a mechanism to provide for long term care for these adults when their parents are really no longer capable of havinig them live in their own homes,” Fortier said.

The project, which is proposed to have four homes, will be located off Hokum Rock Road.
