DENNIS – Dennis Selectmen have voted to appoint Interim Town Administrator Elizabeth Sullivan to the position on a permanent basis.

Sullivan was serving as interim town administrator since September when Town Administrator Richard White had retired.

She was previously the assistant town administrator under White for two and a half years.

“I’m beyond thrilled to accept this opportunity,” said Sullivan. “This role consistently reiterates my enthusiasm for the public process and eagerness and commitment for public service and management at the local level.”

There were no other candidates considered for the position, but selectmen discussed the results of an internal evaluation of Sullivan.

“The town is extremely fortunate to have such a well-qualified department head team who work together cooperatively to always get the job done,” said Sullivan. “They make this job easier.”

Town officials plan to begin the search for an assistant town administrator.
