NHA ‘Food for Thought’ Lecture Series to Conclude in April

NANTUCKET – The spring 2017 Food for Thought lecture series from the Nantucket Historical Association wraps up with two more speakers in April.

The lecture series features presenters from the island and beyond who provide engaging lectures on timely topics that are aligned with Nantucket’s rich culture.

Speakers include representatives from businesses, organizations and public-interest groups.

The free programs are held Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. at the Whaling Museum.

“Reflections on a Decade at the NHA” on April 6 will feature NHA Gosnell Executive Director Bill Tramposch.

Tramposch will reflect on his career at the Association as he prepares to retire in May.

The final presentation of the series is “Monarch Butterflies and their Migration to Mexico: Past, Present and Future” on April 13.

Nantucket Land Council Resource Ecologist Emily Molden has returned from a recent trip to Mexico to visit the overwintering grounds of monarch butterflies.

She will share her experiences from the trip and some insight on the status of the butterflies.

Audience Members are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch while listening to the lectures.
