Nicklaus Gives Fireside Chat in Willowbend for Charity

MASHPEE – Yesterday, Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee honored the Golden Bear himself – legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus – and his wife Barbara for their philanthropic contributions to health care for children and to the game of golf.

The event, billed as a Fireside Chat with Jack Nicklaus, took place Sunday at Willowbend.

David Southworth, one of the founders of Willowbend, presented a check for $100,000 to Barbara and Jack Nicklaus for the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.

On their first visit to Cape Cod, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus joined TV sports personality Bob Lobel for the talk before an audience of nearly 400 golf enthusiasts and Nicklaus fans, eager to hear Nicklaus reminisce about his career.
