NOAH Shelter Opens for Day Services

About_HACHYANNIS – Homeless services in Hyannis received a boost in support last week as the new Main Street Initiative Day Center Project launched on Thursday.

As a result of the State Department of Housing and Community Development’s contribution of $175,000, the NOAH Shelter in Hyannis, formerly only open for services at night, will now become a day center.

Modeled after the Lifebridge program in Salem, Massachusetts, the goal of the new day center is to provide more services to help the homeless improve their lives.

The Housing Assistance Corporation, Town of Barnstable, Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District and other local service providers worked together on the project.

The $175,000 donation will go towards the first year of operation of the day center.
