Nth Degree to Focus on Composers in Revolutionary Times

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Symphony’s chamber music group, Nth Degree, will perform musical tributes to the composers who worked during tumultuous times.

The group’s third season will feature works by Debussy, Stravinsky and others beginning later this month.

A show featuring quartets will be performed on January 27th in Falmouth and the following night in Chatham. Debussy’s String Quartet in G-Minor, Op. 10, Igor Stravinksy’s Three Pieces for String Quartet & Concertino, and Dmitri Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 10 are all on the agenda.

In late March, Nth Degree will play famous French pieces like Piano Trio in A Minor by Maurice Ravel with shows in Falmouth and Chatham.

To close out their season, the group will play selected works under the theme of “freedom” by Olivier Messiaen and Dmitri Shostakovich in June, again in both Falmouth and Chatham.
