COTUIT – A musical comedy that has been described as wacky, uproarious and fun comes to Cape Cod later this month.

The Cotuit Center for the Arts presents “Nunsense” beginning March 23 and running through April 9.

When Sister Julia accidentally poisons 52 of her fellow sisters with tainted food the Little Sisters of Hoboken start a successful greeting card company to pay for all the burials.

Mother superior, thinking they have enough money, splurges on an expensive television for the convent and leaves not enough funds to bury the final four victims.

Five of the remaining sisters decide to put on a variety show to raise the remaining funds needed to bury the remaining nuns.

The show features star turns, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz and comic surprises.

Debuting in 1985, the show has spawned six sequels, three spin-offs and several television shows and sequels.

The show will debut on Thursday, March 23 and then performances will be held Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through April 9.

Tickets are $30, $28 for seniors and veterans, $25 for members and $15 for students.
