Officials Warn of Thanksgiving Fire Dangers

falmouth fire 2BARNSTABLE – The state Fire Marshal is urging caution today as friends and family gather for Thanksgiving.

For the past five years, Thanksgiving day has been the single day with the most fires in Massachusetts. Fire officials say those fires could have been easily prevented, and mostly stem from cooking.

They also warn of carbon monoxide hazards from gas ovens, and encourage residents to be extra vigilant with candles around the dinner table.
