trees on capeSAGAMORE BEACH – A protest will be held Tuesday morning by opponents of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation project which is clearing trees from the median of Route 6.

Mass Dot suspended the cutting last week after residents and legislators expressed concerns that too many trees were being taken down.

The protest will be held at 8:30 a.m. in Sagamore Beach at the intersection of Meetinghouse Lane and State Road (Route 3A), which is on the mainland side of the Sagamore Bridge.

Legislators and town officials are meeting with highway officials to discuss the plans of the project moving forward at 9 a.m. at the DOT depot on State Road in Sagamore Beach.
