ORLEANS – The Orleans Cultural Council is extending a public invitation to view the Annual Regional Student Art Show, which takes place at Orleans Town Hall on School Street from March 4-31.
Celebrating National Youth Art Month, the exhibit features 110 artworks from students grades 6-12, representing the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, the Nauset Regional Middle School and the Nauset Regional High School.
Curated by the region’s art educators, the works feature a variety of mediums, including photography, oil, acrylic, watercolor, monoprint, collage, sculpture, fashion design, wood and jewelry.
The exhibit is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A public reception to celebrate the students and their work will be held in Town Hall on March 10 from 5-7 p.m.
The purpose of the Orleans Cultural Council is to stimulate and encourage the arts within Orleans.
The Orleans Cultural Council, a member of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, is also looking for volunteers.
The council helps to promote and fund the arts, sciences and humanities in Orleans.
Beneficiaries in the past have included musical and dance events, individual artists, nature studies, theatrical productions and educational projects.
The Council meets the first Monday of each month at 5:15pm in at Orleans Town Hall.
