Political Strategist John Walsh to Host Grassroots Activism Class Tonight

CENTERVILLE – A class on grassroots activism and campaigning at the local level will be presented by political strategist John Walsh this evening in Centerville.

Walsh spent six years as the chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party and is a strong advocate for campaigns that start in local communities.

The “Let’s Get Local” program is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Centerville Recreation Building.

The event will also feature four local leaders who will share their challenges and successes. They include Sandy Milano, the new chair of the Cape and Islands Democratic Council, Jeanne Azarovits, a Bourne Planning Board member, Robin Gunderson, of the Barnstable Human Services Committee, and the chair of the Barnstable Disabilities Commission Sheila Mulcahy.

Cape and Islands Stronger Together will also offer on-site assistance to individuals who interested on getting involved in running for town boards and committees.

The event is free and open to the public.
