Protesters Will Still Rally Against Immigrants

TOWN MEETING VOTESBOURNE – A group of citizens will be at the Bourne rotary on Saturday protesting federal immigration policy.

While the governor announced yesterday that the possibility of housing immigrant children at Camp Edwards is now off the table, the protest is still on for this weekend.

The protesters will set up shop at the state police barracks.

“I personally believe that this is an orchestrated crisis at the Federal level” said Bourne resident Linda Zuern, the event’s primary organizer.

Zuern said she is more focused on the immigration issue as a whole rather than one instance of housing children on the Cape.

“We could just think of Bourne and say, well, we don’t have to do this because it won’t affect us. It will affect us down the road because it’s starting to effect our whole country,” Zuern added.

Zuern also serves as a member of the Bourne Board of Selectmen.
