Rain Comes in Droves After Dry Summer

Umbrella-RainMARTHA’S VINEYARD -After a dry summer, the rain came to the Cape and Islands in a big way last month.

The National Weather Service says Martha’s Vineyard had the rainiest November it has seen since 1988 with over 8.6 inches of rainfall last month.

The Vineyard Gazette reports it was the second rainiest month ever recorded on the island, with records dating back to 1946.

The wet weather is a change for the region. State officials issued a drought advisory late this summer.
