Redevelopment Proposed for Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Potato Chip factory could be in line for a major redevelopment, pending an approval from the Cape Cod Commission.

The company is looking to knock down their current 3,300 square foot visitor tour area and office space and replace it with a brand new 10,900 square foot building. Plans also call for a 10,000 square foot addition to existing warehouse and loading spaces. The proposal also includes upgrades pedestrian connections from the parking areas to the visitor entrance.

The plans would fall under the umbrella of a Development of Regional Impact, meaning the Commission needs to approve the project.

A hearing is planned for Thursday, July 6 at 3 p.m. in the Assembly of Delegates Chambers at the First District Courthouse in Barnstable Village. Residents looking to testify on the plans can do so in person or by submitting written comments to the Commission.
