Regional Wastewater Plan Submitted to Regulators

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Commission submitted a working draft of the Section 208 Water Quality Management Plan to the state’s department of Environmental Protection and the EPA last week.

The 208 Plan Update focuses on nutrient impacts to the Cape’s estuaries, primarily nitrogen in wastewater.

A 60-day discussion and negotiation period among the Commission and regulators now begins, with a public draft being released in August.
