Road Rage Incident Leads To Arrest in Sandwich

Police arrested a 35-year-old South Yarmouth man after an alleged road rage incident in Yarmouth Monday night.

Police charged Chad Hathaway with assault while armed with a dangerous weapon.

According to police, Hathaway was said to have pointed a gun at a woman and her daughter and threatened them. The alleged incident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm Monday night.

The woman and her daughter waited for police in a parking lot at the intersection of Forest and Old Townhouse Road in South Yarmouth.

Hathaway was pulled over after the incident by state police on Route 28 in front of McDonald’s in South Yarmouth.

Hathaway allegedly admitted to police he had a road rage type of altercation with a woman earlier in the evening but denied having a gun.

Police said they searched his vehicle and did not find a gun.
