SANDWICH – The Sandwich Chamber of Commerce is opening its new visitor center Thursday.

A grand opening party and ribbon cutting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Attendees will be able to tour the new center on Route 130 which includes restrooms and a community meeting room.

The old visitor center was moved to Sandwich High School to serve as a temporary concession stand at Captain Gerald F. DeConto Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The land has been leased by the chamber from the town with annual rent of $1.

The chamber raised about $300,000 towards the cost and the work on the building and grounds was all donated.
