Sandwich Sailors Special Olympics Program to Begin Track Activities

SANDWICH – A new Special Olympics Community program in Sandwich will add more activities this spring.

The Sandwich Sailors, who are coming off a successful basketball season and weekly bowling team, are heading outside next month to begin a track and field team.

The team, which is open to all athletes over eight years old, will meet Sunday mornings at the Riverview School from 8 to 10 a.m. beginning April 9.

Individuals interested in volunteering to help with the track program or any other Special Olympics Massachusetts events can contact Rick Serodio at [email protected] or by calling 603-494-1327.

Special Olympics Massachusetts offer year-round sports training, athletic competition and other related programs for over 12,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state in more than 95 competitions.
