Coast Guard Suspends Search in Plymouth Harbor

PLYMOUTH – The Coast Guard has suspended its search for possible missing person in the water off of Plymouth after an overturned kayak was discovered early this morning.

A fisherman spotted the kayak and paddle near Bug Light in Plymouth Harbor around 4 a.m.

A helicopter crew from Air Station Cape Cod was launched as part of a four-hour search that covered 29 square miles.  Officials say nothing was found and there have been no missing person reports filed.

The Plymouth Fire Department, a 29-foot rescue boat from Coast Guard Station Scituate, and boats from the Plymouth, Kingston, and Duxbury Harbormasters offices also took part in the search.
