BARNSTABLE – Forecasters say the season’s first big winter storm is predicted to hit the commonwealth tonight.

Meterologist Kim Buttrick said the public should be ready for heavy winds and gusts.
Wet snow is expected in the areas outside of the 495 corridor, but the Cape and Islands could get coastal flooding.
