Season’s First Big Nor’easter on the Way

Umbrella-RainBARNSTABLE – Forecasters say the season’s first big winter storm is predicted to hit the commonwealth tonight.

The National Weather Service is trying to give the public advance notice of what to expect.

The National Weather Service is predicting rain and heavy winds for the Cape and Islands starting tonight and into tomorrow, with rain continuing until Thursday.

Meterologist Kim Buttrick said the public should be ready for heavy winds and gusts.

Wet snow is expected in the areas outside of the 495 corridor, but the Cape and Islands could get coastal flooding.
