Series of Walks to Shed Light on Cold Brook Preserve Restoration Project

HARWICH PORT – A series of guided walks will examine the Robert F. Smith Cold Brook Preserve Eco-Restoration Project in two phases.

The first walk, which will take place twice on Friday, May 26th and Saturday, June 10th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the preserve, will focus on why the Harwich Conservation Trust aims to restore the former cranberry bog into a self-sustaining wetland and stream system.

The first walk will also discuss potential actions which might relieve environmental stressors as a result of the bog system.

Part two, to take place Friday June 9th or Friday, June 23rd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will examine the actions taken on the grounds already and why these project matter to wetland habitats.

More information regarding reservations can be found at www.harwichconservationtrust.org.
