Sheriff’s Office Seeks Volunteers for Emergency Response Team

BOURNE – The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office is seeking volunteers to become members of Community Emergency Response (CERT) teams.

The volunteers will assist professional first responders with some emergency situations, but also commonly perform traffic and other duties at road races and festivals.

To qualify, volunteers must be at least 16 years old and willing to attend 7 weekly training courses on Wednesday nights beginning in March.

The course will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Flanagan Hall.

There is no charge for the course, but seating is limited to 25.
