CHATHAM – At least six white sharks were spotted of the coast of Chatham Friday.

According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, four new male white sharks were identified.

The identifications were made from GoPro footage that was obtained as part of the Massachusetts Shark Research Program’s five year population study.

The shark sightings were between the North Inlet in Chatham and the area dubbed “Shark Cove” off Monomoy.

The shark research program’s study is in it’s first year.
