Smoking Banned at Seashore

DunesEASTHAM – The Cape Cod National Seashore has joined three towns on the Cape in prohibiting smoking on beaches.

The Seashore has instituted a smoking ban at their six guarded beaches, beginning this summer.

Superintendent George Price says visitors have complained about second-hand smoke, and that was the reason for the decision.

Smoking outside the guarded beach area will still be allowed.

The towns of Barnstable, Yarmouth, and Falmouth also ban smoking on their beaches.
